Cleome

CLEOME
James R. Huntsberger
Oil on Canvas

This is one of the still life paintings I have completed recently. Janet grows Cleome near the back edge of our property because it requires little water or care and provides a bright spot of color and cut flowers. Cleome reseeds itself, which is fine with us, but if you don't want it to take over your flowerbeds, please remember to cut off the flower heads as they turn to seed!

This 14" x 11" canvas, framed in an antiqued-gold wooden frame, is priced at $1,200.

I will introduce Cleome at the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware Art Fest on Friday evening, November 2, 2007.

Meconopsis

MECONOPSIS
Oil on Panel

I found these unusual blue poppies growing in the Conservatory at Longwood Gardens during the winter. These are Alpine flowers so they will not grow well outside in our warm, humid summer climate in Delaware.
This is an original painting by James R. Huntsberger.
It is an oil painting on board, and is 5" x 7."

Anemone

ANEMONE
James R. Huntsberger
Oil on Canvas

Here's another of my anemone paintings. This time I've added a few more elements to the composition. I'm particularly happy with the brass pail. I've been looking for something like that for years and finally found it in an interesting antique mall located on Second Street in Lewes, Delaware. I'll go back there again!

This 20" x 16" canvas, framed in an antiqued-gold wooden frame, is priced at $1,600.

I'll be introducing Anemone on Saturday & Sunday, March 24 & 25 at

Anemone III by James R. Huntsberger

Anemone III

11” x 14” Oil on panel

I like this anemone so well that I have painted it three times so far! It is in an old family cider jug that I’ve kept in my studio until it became artistically dusty. I’ve had to shoo away everyone who was tempted to clean it for me.

In a massive antique-gold wooden frame, Anemone III is priced at $800.

I will introduce this new painting at Hockessin Art Festival 2007
Hockessin Memorial Hall
Route 41 and Yorklyn Road
Hockessin, DE

Friday, February 23 – 5 to 9 p.m.
Saturday, February 24 – 10 a.m. to 5p.m.
Sunday, February 25 – Noon to 4 p.m.

Thirty percent of all art sales at the Hockessin Art Festival benefit the Wilmington and Western Railroad. Over the years, proceeds from this art show have been used to restore the bridges and roadbed of this historic railroad after horrendous storm damage. Riding the trains of The Wilmington and Western Roadroad is a childhood tradition in the greater Wilmington area. To read about this worthy organization please go to http://www.wwrr.com/.
